EDITING

Editing Bundle – $.035 per word

This option contains both the developmental edit and the line edit.

Developmental Edit

This is the big picture edit. It looks for structure, organization, and flow in nonfiction, and plot and character development and other things in fiction. It includes a report outlining the issues and potential fixes.

$ .025 per word ($25 per 1000 words)

Line Edit

This edit reviews the text for mechanics like spelling, grammar, punctuation, and errors in fact. It also examines content, readability, and style according to the Chicago Manual of Style.

The design bundle option contains the print and ebook versions of both the cover and interior of the book.

Cover design

$350 – print only*

CLEANUP

Proofreading

Proofreading is done after the book is laid out for printing but before it goes to print. It includes fixing typos, inconsistencies, incorrect punctuation, page numbering, bad line breaks, and more.

Content Changes

Content changes occur after editing has been completed and layout has already begun. They are editorial changes to the book outside the normal parameters of proofreading.

  • 1 – 25 changes – Included free
  • 26 – 50 changes – $90
  • 51+ changes – $125 per hour
